Society's Messiah "a popular hit"

A near capacity audience enjoyed an impressive and "meticulously rehearsed" performance of Handel's Messiah by St Albans Choral Society in the Abbey on 21st April, writes reviewer Mary Cook in the Herts Advertiser.

The compelling performance "demonstrated how far this choir has developed since George Vass took over as music director, to become one of the leading groups in the area", she said. "That such a large choir was able to maintain a bright, rhythmic drive was impressive."
